Your Excellency Ambassador Tarui, Minister Sami, Mr. Okada and Ladies and Gentlemen who are attending today's order bestowing ceremony, I feel a great honor to receive such an honorable order from His Majesty the Temperor of Japan. But looking back to myself, I fear that I am not yet doing enough contributions deserving to receive such an honor.

Firstly, I want to express my sincere thanks to Ambassador Tarui, who recommended me to be given such an honorable order and holding today's bestowing ceremony, also thanks to all who are working for The Exchange Association. I also want to extend my thanks to all my friends and relatives, who sacrifice their busy time to attend today's ceremony to encourage me.

Right now, the relationship bewteen Japan and Taiwan has never been better, as you know. This can get a proof from the fact that Taiwan has given the largest amount of donations to Japan when the great earthquake and tsunami assaulted northeast of Japan on March, 11th, 2013.

Of course such a good relationship was built through continuous efforts of our seniors in the past. We, as successors, both in Taiwan and Japan have responsibility to broaden and deepen such a good relationship.

Today, I am lucky enough to receive such an honorable order for my small efforts made in the past, being recognized. From now on, I decided to make more efforts to engage in the work of promoting the relationship between Taiwan and Japan. Please give me your good guidance and encouragement to make my work accomplished better and smoother.

Thank you.
